Team Spotlight - HCI Girls
Into the 8th week of Team Spotlight, we have with us today on the series is Elysia the team captain of Hwachong Floorball girls. She shared with us her team’s experience of 2016 A’ Division season. We asked teams 3 simple questions and these is Elysia’s response…

What is your team’s slogan?
Our team has an informal hashtag: #weownthefloor. It was something we came up at the start to bring our team together, but now after a great year together. It became an expression of common identity and effective form of encouragement.
What values does your team uphold?
Hwachong Floorball has always placed emphasis on our very own culture; being more than a team, a family with a common vision that is driven by our love for the sport. We have a limited talent pool each year, but we believe that as long as we put in dedication and passion, the outcome and skills do not matter. Always having the right attitude in everything we do is key for the any progress and bonding we seek.
Tell us one thing you and your team have learnt from this 2016 season?
We've learnt that a Floorball game is not always about winning or scoring. Undoubtedly, the score line is what determines the surface outcome of every match, but what matters more is the team's attitude towards that game or the sport. As long as we trusted each other, moved as one, and gave in our all, we should be satisfied with our performance regardless of the outcome! We fell short of our expectations for this season, but upon reflection we've actually learnt way more that we could ever ask for: - the right mentality and perseverance within our minds for everything we do. With that, a team will never go wrong.
Stay tune for next week Team Spotlight, it might just be your team....
