Team Spotlight - CJC Girls
Not too long ago, we draw closure for 2016 A’ Division Floorball Championship. Witnessing great teamwork, determination, fighting spirits from many teams. We are privileged and honored to be able to interview and share some team’s post-season thoughts and experiences that they have gain in 2016 season.
First up, we have Rachel the captain of Catholic Junior College girls. The underdog, that stormed their way into the semi-finals and cause many upsets to other teams.

What is your team’s slogan?
Our team’s slogan would be “0-0”. For every period that ends, even time out calls, we would always remind each other on 0-0 mindset and to always remember that no matter what the score line is at that moment we’ll still give our best. Moments when we are leading, “0-0” would always remind us that anything can happen and the score could turn around so we cannot be complacent and give the game any less of a fight. Moments when we are losing, it reminds us that all hopes weren’t lost, that we can get back up and at least close the margin up.
What values does your team uphold?
“Unity” and “Togetherness” – Before every match our team pray on the bus when we’re heading to the tournament venue, and what we always pray for is that we always give our 100%, to always support each other and give our best. Constant support and encouragement is something we live by.
Tell us one thing you and your team have learnt from this 2016 season?
One thing that we learnt was to not limit ourselves. I think this year CJ surprised many others and ourselves when we emerged top 4. Throughout the season there were a lot of times we were prepared for a loss when we knew we were going up against tougher opponent. But my coach always reminded us that anything could happen on court, and that we shouldn’t go on court with a mindset that we’ll lose. She always reminded us that we have nothing to lose, so we learnt not to put ourselves under too much pressure and just enjoy playing Floorball.
Stay tune for next week Team Spotlight, it might just be your team....
