National A'Division Floorball 2016 Finals

Last Friday, we witness the closure of the 2016 A’ Division Floorball finals. Both the girls and boys finals were intense, with close score line. And determination and fighting spirit of both teams was displayed at Delta Sports Hall.

In the girls final, we have defending champion Meridian JC took on Yishun Junior College. YJC come back from a 2-0 down to upset the defending champion MJC to win the title. 1st period saw defending champion MJC making their presence felt as they bring the score line to 2-0 in favor of them. YJC refused to settle with the 2-0 scoreline, with their determination and not backing down attitude, YJC scored and brought the scoreline to level at 2-2. With only a minute left on the clock, YJC manage to smash their winning goal and kept their cool in defense to seal the game at 3-2 to reclaim the title from MJC.

Both YJC and MJC met in the 2014 finals, where YJC was crown champions with the identical scoreline of 3-2.

Over in the boys finals, it was defending champion RI up against MJC. It was no stranger to both side as they have met each other in past years encounter. The match was intense with end to end Floorball action, as the first period ends of with a goalless to both teams. RI scored their 1st goal of the game in a power play where MJC had 2 players sent to the sin bin. MJC did not back down with the scoreline, they kept shooting and testing the defense of RI. And their effort pay off in the last 3 minutes of the 2nd period, they scored and leveled the game. We thought the match would go into extra time, but with less than 5 minutes left on the clock RI answer with a shot to bring the game to 2-1 to retain the title for their 3rd time in a row.
