IVP Floorball 2015/2016

Last Wednesday, 27th January 2016 was an exciting Floorball evening at Republic Polytechnic, with the showdown of the IVP 2015/2016 Floorball finals. In the ladies category it was a showdown the polytechnics between host Republic and Temasek Polytechnic. The discipline TP Wolves put up a strong defense, denying Republic girls to shoot and blocking shot after shot. It didn’t take long before the fiery Republic girls found the goal to seal the game 4-1.

In the mens category, it was the defending champions Temasek Poly up against Nanyang Technology University. A match that is worth sitting down to watchthe game was of high intensity and a lot of impressive play by both sides. The defending champions nail in the 1st goal in early minutes, the game was kept at 2-2 till NTU found the breaking moment to take the lead and seal the game at 4-2.

In the 3rd/4th placing match for ladies we have NUS up against ITE, it was definitely exciting towards the end. ITE was down with 5-2 in favor of NUS, but the ITE girls did not back down in the last 2 minutes ITE scored 2 goals back to bring the scoreline to 5-4, but it was too late. It was definitely good effort by the ITE girls, for putting in great effort in fighting.

In the mens 3rd/4th placing, it was the same as the ladies NUS mens was up against ITE. ITE was on the upper hand; having won NUS 4-1 in the group stage they were confident to bring a medal home. With that confidence, ITE took the lead to 2-0 in the third period. But the fierce and determine NUS boys did not stop their attack, after numerous shot they finally found the net bringing the game to 2-1 before the game hit its 5 minutes mark. Their hard work eventually paid off, after scoring a late equalizer goal in the last minutes they were fire up to bring this home or bring it to extra time. The boys from ITE stood up strong, and scored a last second goal to bring home the game with the score of 3-2.
