SFL 2015/2016 Division 1 Champions

It was no doubt an exciting and thrilling Sunday over at Hougang Sports Hall with the closure of the SFL 2015/2016 Division 1 Men’s and Women’s Finals. At 5pm, the ladies kickoff the finals with defending champion Albatross FC against NUS Titans, a match that brought crowds to the sports hall.

The top 2 teams of the ladies division match up, it was clear that NUS Titans would want to break the running record of Albatross. Albatross had a comfortable 2 goals lead moving into the 1st period break. But Titans is known for their resilience and determination to fight back till the final whistle. Albatross was few minutes away from a comfortable win, but titans fought all the way till the last few minutes bringing the scoreline closer 3-2. It was down to who wants it more will win it, with many experience of playing in the finals Albatross had a upper hand of composing themselves the last few minutes, which they did and eventually retain their title.

Over to the men finals, it was more of a 1-sided game. Skools Innebandy was leading NUS Nemesis 4-1 going into the third period. After the 2nd period break, NUS Nemesis got their act together and bring the game back to 4-4, it was then into sudden death extra time. We could see the exhaustion from both teams, but the team that wants it more wins it. NUS Nemesis prove and shown that they wanted it more but ceasing their opportunity in front of Innebandy’s goal, a shot from Jian Hong seal the game. 5-4 it was to NUS Nemesis the new crown champions.

Congratulation to all the top 4 teams, thank you for displaying great Floorball skills, techniques, talent and sportsmanship. It’s was definitely a pleasure experience watching.
