SFL 2015 - Semi Finalist

The Halloween weekend is more than just trick or treats, its intense and exciting at Hougang Sports Hall with the SFL 2014 Division 1 playoff. 16 teams battled out to earn their spot in the semi-finals. Saturday sees the men’s kick start the playoff/quarter finals with defending champions Black Wondersticks taking on TW-P Hitman. Black Wondersticks off for a slow start against the tight and discipline Hitman, but second period onward saw the defending champions cruising forward to book their spot in the semi-finals with the score of 10-3.

Second quarter finals match was an intense match up with the forth and fifth placing teams battling out. Skools Innebandy was up against Victoria School Floorball, the last time both teams met saw Skools Innebandy winning the game with a close score of 4-3. Victoria Schools took a 2-0 lead at the start of second period against their worthy opponent and only to find their lead was temporal when Innebandy players come back with 3 goals to take the lead. It was a neck to neck game with the final score of 7-6 in favor of Skools Innebandy, indeed is a game that demonstrated who wants it more will take it home.

Third quarter finals was also a neck to neck game, Merahans Knights won Moosemen with a close score of 3-2, while the forth game seems easier for NUS Nemesis as they seal the game with a score of 5-3 against Nhac Trec.

Over to the ladies division, we have defending champion Albatross FC take on KBFF Dolphins to kickstart the quarter’s finals on Sunday. Albatross FC proves to be just too strong for the dolphins despite putting up a tight and discipline defense, Albatross FC still managed to squeeze in 12 goals. On a good note, the determination from dolphin has earn them 2 goals, the game ended 12-2 in favor of the defending champions. Moving on to the second match, we have TUS Litto FC up against Merahan Knightingales. The match ended 6-3 in favor of TUS Litto FC.

NUS Titans was up against sister team of TUS Litto - TUS Protégé the match ended with a score of 12-0 in favor of NUS Titans. While the last quarter final match proves to be tight affair with NUS Jupitans up against Skools OSB Owls, the forth match ended with a close scoreline of 4-3 in favor of NUS Jupitans.

So the semi-finalist for both mens and womens division are:

Men’s Division:

SF1 – Black Wondersticks vs Skools Innebandy

SF2 – Merahan Knights vs NUS Nemesis

Women’s Division:

SF1 – Albatross vs NUS Jupitans

SF2 – TUS Litto FC vs NUS Titans

Well, next weekend is going to be an action pack weekend at Hougang Sports Hall, with the commencement of the Division 2 & 3 matches on Saturday and the semi finals happening on Sunday. All the best to all 8 teams....
