Jian Hong shares with us his SEA Games moments.....

Last week we share about the successful story of SEA Games for Jill Quek, and this we share the glory of another Singapore athlete – Lim Jian Hong. His SEA Games journey as Team Singapore Athlete in the 28th SEA Games.
At the age of 20, Jian Hong has plenty of experiences. Having 8 years of playing experience and 4 years of international experience Jian Hong is definitely one of Singapore’s up and coming local talents. He is currently playing as a forward and is currently training with NUS Nemesis that is competing in Singapore’s Elite Local league.
When I asked Jian Hong how he felt after he know that he was selected for the 28th SEA Games he said that “It was a mixed of emotions; feeling really happy, thankful and excited at the same time knowing that I was given the opportunity to represent my nation for SEA Games.” He added, it was a fantastic experience having to play on home ground with so many supporters rooting for us every single game, which my team and me are truly thankful for.
The greatest moment Jian Hong had was when he scores his first goal against Philippines, and he added every moment in this SEA Games is very special for him. He feels that the greatest moment for his team would be their 9-0 win against Thailand in the Gold medal match. He added, “We were especially happy with the way we played and winning the Gold medal in front of our home supporter was definitely unforgettable.”

The Singapore Men’s Floorball team have been preparing for this tournament for about 10 months with an average of 3 training session per week. As the tournament draw closer, we had training camps as well as overseas training to Finland to prepare themselves for the challenges ahead. The team set to achieve and win the gold medal and they also aimed to put up a convincing performance every game since they have more experience as compare to their competitors. They ultimately won the Gold Medal and managed to put up a great performance throughout the tournament.
Going into 28th SEA Games, the personal goal for Jian Hong was to play well and be consistent in his performance throughout the tournament. When I ask Jian Hong to use 1 word that best describe him, he reply -: “Dynamic, I am active, full of energy when comes to Floorball or with my friends.”
