NSG Floorball 2015 (C Div) - River Valley High School Girls

This week, we had a short interview with River Valley High School Floorball girls team captains – Joanne Tan Hui En (right) and Tan Ruo Bing (left) about their team’s preparation for this year tournament under the care of Coach Stella.

Both Joanne and Ruo Bing has been playing Floorball since Year 1, currently both of them are in their Year 2 studies in RVHS and will be 14 years old by end of the year. Joanne and Ruo Bing both plays in different position in their team, with Joanne playing as a defender and Ruo Bing as a forward.

Getting to know Joanne and Ruo Bing’s team:

Q: How did your team perform last season?

A: We did not do as well as we aimed to thus we did not achieve our goal of being top 8. However, we hope to apply what we learned from last season this year and do even better.

Q: How is your team’s preparation for these season?

A: We train up to twice or thrice a week, totaling up to 8hours. Although sometimes training can end to as late at 6.45pm, we have no complains as we enjoy Floorball a lot. Secondly, we run 4km every Monday morning to train our physical fitness and stamina on court. Also, we eat meals as a team after training or friendlies and have team talks to bond the team. Lastly, we practice stick work on a regular basis to improve our ball handling skills on court.

Q: What is your team’s goal for this season?

A: We aim to advance to the semi-finals this upcoming season.

Q: Use 1 word that best describes your team. And why?

A: Passionate. Every member enjoys playing Floorball and our love for the sport is what brings us closer together. We are not exactly the most bonded team but we have a common passion and it encourages us to work harder to achieve our goal for this season.
