NSG Floorball 2015 (C Div) - Serangoon Gardens Secondary School Girls

This week, we had a short interview with Serangoon Garden Secondary School Floorball team captain – Jolin Toh Jia Yi (right) about her team’s preparation for this year tournament under the care of Coach Jill.

Jolin started playing Floorball at the age of 13, she picked up Floorball in Secondary 1. She is 14 years old and currently playing as a defender in her team.

Getting to know Jolin’s team:

Q: How did your team perform last season?

A: My team did quite well for last season; we almost got into second round.

Q: How is your team’s preparation for these season?

A: My team is preparation for this season isn’t that well. As during June holiday trainings, some of my teammates were unable to attend due to various reasons. However, I know that my team would persevere and work hard for it even if the timeline seems tight. It might not be easy but as long as we give in our best effort, I believe we can do well.

Q: What is your team’s goal for this season?

A: Our goal for this season is that whether we get into second round or not, we learn from all the mistakes and stay humble. Doesn’t mean that we win mean we forget about working harder and doesn’t mean we lost we lose everything. As long as we put in our best effort in every game that is good enough.

Q: Use one word that best describe your team and why?

A: Family. Because family doesn’t backstab each other but in fact they would tell each other what is wrong and would work together to make it better. There would be conflicts, but inside a family conflict don’t last. Family helps one another and works together well. They will be there for each other through thick and thin.

Family encourages each other, they will never forget who helped them to succeed. Lastly, family will always be grateful for one another. That’s what exactly a team is as well.
