Simplicity and gratefulness best describes Coach Leng
Ever wonder who is the one blogging on “13SS Floorball Blog”? Let me introduce myself, I am Lee Leng, people usually address me as Leng in short. And yes, I am the one behind the scene managing the blog.
As you guys know, we are in a series of introducing coaches under the belt of 13SS Coaching Family every month. And this month it’s my turn to be featured on the 13SS Floorball Blog, so I am here to share my Floorball journey.

I have been playing Floorball for close to 14 years, started playing at the age of 13. Hockey and Floorball was a joint sports CCA in my school, where all players will compete in both Hockey tournament and Floorball tournament. What caught my attention in Hockey was the interesting goal-keeper equipment, always thought Field Hockey is similar to Ice Hockey where players are required to suit up in those cool protective gears. The first impression I had for Floorball was the game is “fast and interesting in such a small court, very different from Hockey”.
I am currently playing for Albatross FC who competes in the ladies elite league in Singapore - SFL Division 1 as a defender.
I truly believe that every player/team should posses an excellence mindset and a never give up attitude. A excellence mindset is important regardless of what skills set one posses, because with this excellence mindset in mind one will strive to achieve better and have a strong desire to improve on their weaknesses.
And a player/team should also posses a never give up attitude regardless how difficult and tough his/her journey as an athlete may be, because giving up is easy but staying through what you have started is tough yet priceless. Because what we gain through those tough times are experiences that last a lifetime, money cannot buy true-life experience and it will only benefit ourselves. We will only gain from what we have invested, and for this case is time.
One word that best describes me, I would say, “simple and grateful”. Because I love the simplicity of life that we can choose, and I am always grateful for things and people around me. The world is already so complicated, why should we confront to the mess? Take a step back and enjoy the simplest things in life.
