Albatrossian over to Thailand

In March, some of the Albatrossian traveled to Thailand, Bangkok to play an international match against the Thailand National Womens’ Floorball Team. And we are honored to be able to interview Jaslin Tey Hui Xin about her playing experience in Thailand.

Jaslin is 23 years old and a student in NUS. She has been playing Floorball for 5.5 years as a center & forward, started playing Floorball in 2009 when she was studying in River Valley High School.
Getting to know Jaslin’s experience in Thailand:
Q: How was your experience playing against the Thai National Team?
A: It was a wow experience! On court, the girls are fast and tough, complemented with good stick work. They are a disciplined team. It was a challenge having to play against them but it was fun! Outside of court, these girls are very sociable and helpful despite the language barrier.
Q: What came to your mind when you first knew that you are going to play against the Thai National team?
A: I was quite surprised, as I did not know that Thailand has also started a Floorball and even have a national team. I did not know what to expect but I really looked forward to playing against them.

Q: How were you feeling prior to the first game? Nervous? Excited?
A: I was excited! Not knowing what to expect from the opponent, the only thought I had was to just go on court and play my best and focus on the game.
Q: What have you learn from the games and what can you improve on?
A: I learnt the importance of having consistent performance throughout the entire game, giving 100% every moment when we are on the court. I think I have to improve on my speed and technical skills. Having a good court awareness also makes a player more versatile.
