Raffles Institution (JC) Girls

For this week, we had a short interview with the captain from Raffles Institution (Junior College) - Samantha Lee Hui San (Left) about her team's preparation for this year A Division tournament. Samantha is 18 year old this year and has been playing Floorball since J1 as a center.
As Samantha reflect upon last year's season, she mention that the team did not perform as well as everyone had wanted to, as we made mistakes that could have been avoided. However, over the course of the whole season, our performance did improve significantly as the process served as a good learning experience to prepare us for the future matches.
Under the leadership and care of Coach Jill, the RJC Girls are training hard with 3 times a week training that focuses alot on stickwork, gameplay, fitness and their strength and conditioning. Coach Jill always reiterates that "success is the peace of mind knowing that you have done your very best." The goal for Samantha and her team is for every player to give their 100% for the team in every match and have no regrets, regardless the outcome. As a team, they also hope that they will be able to take away much from this season in terms of improving their skills in Floorball as well as learning the value of being a good sportsman.

When I ask them to use one word that best describe their team, they replied: "Driven. We are all relatively new to Floorball and most of us did not come from a sports background in secondary school. However, everyone is very motivated, training hard to pick up the skills in Floorball and pushing themselves to improve their fitness, often organising extra trainings out of normal CCA hours."
Let's give our fullest support to Raffles Institution (Junior College) Girls as they compete and represent their school for this year NSG A Division Floorball tournament.
Stay tune for our weekly post, as we will be featuring more teams that will be competing this year.
